WordPanic

The Basics

WordPanic is a fast-paced word game where you compete against other players. Each round presents a word challenge, and you race to submit the best answer before time runs out.

Game Flow

1. Answer Phase — A question appears with a timer. Type your answer and hit Submit. Faster correct answers earn more points (up to 1,000).
2. Voting Phase — With 3+ players, everyone votes on their favourite answer. If voting points are on, each vote you receive earns 100 bonus points.
3. Results — See how everyone did, then on to the next round!

Question Types

Anagram

Rearrange the given letters to form a valid word using all of them.

Compound Word

Form a compound word using the given root — both parts must be real words. Example: "fire" → "firehouse" (fire + house)

Fill in the Blanks

Guess the word from a pattern showing some letters. Example: "_ _ A _ E"

Letter Count

Find a word containing a specific number of a certain letter. Example: "Word with 3 E's"

Rhyming

Find a word that rhymes with the given word.

Such As

Name something that fits the adjective — any answer counts, so get creative! Scoring is mostly from votes. Example: "Something fluffy" → "kitten"

Chaos Mode

When Chaos Mode is enabled, some rounds will have a twist that changes how you play. A twist is announced above the question — you'll know it when you see it!

No Backspace

The backspace key is disabled — commit to every keystroke!

Reverse

Type your answer backwards! “cat” becomes “tac”.

Speed Demon

The speed demon steals 20–40% of your time off the clock. Think fast!

Scoring

• Speed bonus: Up to 1,000 points for correct answers — the faster you answer, the more you earn.
• Vote bonus: 100 points for each vote your answer receives.
• Such As rounds: Speed bonus is reduced — votes matter most!
• Wrong or no answer — 0 points for the round.

Tips

• Speed matters! Submit quickly for maximum points.
• Creative answers get more votes, even if speed wasn't your best.
• You can join a game in progress and start playing immediately.
